“The world gave to Yolanda cause; we pay it forward to Nepal”
Last 30th May 2015, the Philippine Football Club, Singapore (PFC-SG) held its first inter-colour tournament for the year. The event was held at the Premier Pitch, Balestier Rd from 6:00 to 10:00pm. Going beyond tradition, the said tournament set off as a charity event to raise funds for the earthquake victims of Nepal.
With the generosity of the participants and the major sponsor, Philippine National Bank (PNB), the event was able to raise a total of S$ 1,126.55. All proceeds have been donated to Red Cross SG
50 players participated in the event, divided into 5 teams (Red, Yellow, Blue, Black, White) who bested each other in a 7-aside, single-round robin format. A fine mix of PFC men, women, and youth players and guests participated in the matches. Team Red emerged as champions, with a one loss, three win-record. Members of the Team Red are Peter Dan, Diouk Gabba, Sandeep Brahma, Vic Sanghilan, Ken Chu, Ken Gil, Izzy Valledor, Dana Rillorta, and Macon Macalintal
The event was graced by the club’s newly –elected President, Joseph Angelo Uichanco and PNB Singapore’s General Manager, Ms. Christy Vicentina.
This friendly tournament is held on a quarterly basis to keep the camaraderie of the expanding club alive. Moreover, this event allows a venue for new members to get to know each other and for pioneer members to keep in touch with each other. Sponsors have showed interest in engaging with PFC-SG in their future events.
PFC-SG is looking forward to host the next Inter-colour tournament scheduled on 15 August 2015, at HYFA.
